Monitored Detox Program

Detoxification or Detox is where most recovery stories begin. Detox is the intervention in a case of physical dependence on drugs or alcohol, in which the body processes and rids itself of a drug. During the detox process, one will often experience various withdrawal symptoms.

We offer a monitored detoxification program for those clients who have been cleared by a physician and are ready to begin their recovery program.

A detoxification program for physical dependence does not necessarily address the underlying factors of addiction, social factors, psychological addiction, or the complex behavioral issues that intermingle with addiction. It is for these reasons that it is important the detoxification process is followed with a treatment program and counseling. Detox alone, without a structured treatment program, is not treatment.

What to expect in a Detox Program

With so many intoxicating and mind altering substances - including but not limited to heroin, prescription opioids, methamphetamine, fentanyl, benzodiazepine, cocaine, prescription pain killers, marijuana and alcohol - being abused across the United States, it is not surprising that our communities in the Central Valley have been adversely affected. People abuse a variety of substances to such an extent that they need professional help to overcome the addictions and co-occurring mental health disorders that they usually develop as a result.

The length of detoxification varies based on each individual’s physical health, mental health, substance use history, and the type of substance involved. On average, detox typically lasts 7 to 10 days, though some individuals may require more time depending on the severity of withdrawal symptoms and co-occurring conditions.

Throughout the detox process, clients are supported by a team of trained professionals, including staff certified in First Aid and CPR, who are available 24/7 to ensure safety and comfort. Prior to and during detox, clients receive preliminary counseling to help prepare emotionally and mentally for the experience.

Once the detox program is complete, the client will then join the Residential Treatment Program to start the journey a lasting recovery.

Note:

It is important to note that at any time, if a client needs or requires medical attention of any kind, they will immediately be admitted to a local emergency room to detox under the care of medical professionals.
